Seattle was blessed with a second visit from Chvrches on their Screen Violence tour. The first time, when they headlined the Day In Day Out Festival in the summer of 2021, back when the synth pop band had just released their newest album. 390 days later and they played a sold out show on the tail end of their Screen Violence tour at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. Just like every other time they play Seattle their show are totally unlike the last. Always raising the bar. Perfecting the set list song choice, energizing performance and one of kind makeup looks.

Singer Lauren Mayberry full embraced this tour, album and the character of their own self made horror film inspired album and concert. When they played ‘Final Girl’ Mayberry came on stage in a white shirt with the words of the song title written on the shirt. The most notable part was the fake red blood all over her arms, neck, and torso. Final Girl representing the end of the movie when it’s the villian vs monster. In this story the girl lives and finishes the set with a triumphant celebration finishing the night with ‘Mother We Share’ and ‘Clearest Blue’.  Not before playing some of Screen Violence greatest songs including, He Said She Said, Good Girls, and Asking For A Friend.

Splitting duties on guitar, bass, and synths Iain Cook and Martin Doherty stood in the backline supporting Mayberry. The best part of the show was the epic bridges and chorus when they would come from behind their synths to rock in front of the stage with Mayberry. The shows are always the best when you see all three playing off each others performance.

Seeing Chvrches when Screen Violence was still fresh off it released and later as a band that had toured the world supporting their new album you could see these songs growing on the fans. Over a year later we’ll always remember the Screen Violence era and the incredible songs, performance, and all the fake blood.

Opening the show was pop duo Cafune. Their incredible performance was most notable from the energy from guitarist Noah Yoo who you could see the music physically move through him. While lead singer Sedona Schat vocal performance was just as thrilling at Yoo’s guitar skills.
