Lauv w/ Hayley Kiyoko & Payday
WaMu Theater, Seattle, WA
09.20.22

If there were ever a tour stacked to the brim, the All 4 Nothing Tour, featuring Lauv, Hayley Kiyoko, and Payday is it. All three acts delivered truly stellar sets to a packed house, full of youthful energy, solid internet-friendly tracks, and what kind of feels like the new emo. You know the kind. Where the kids today are bearing it all — their emotions, that is — in front of everyone? Yeah, that emo.

It’s friendly, it’s queer, it’s young, it’s colorful, it’s completely irreverent in the best possible way.

Payday — a young rapper who’s from Seattle but not really from Seattle — opened the night on a sparse stage, just a mic in hand to deliver a set full of pop beats, humor, and teenage love songs. She was followed by everyone’s gay sweetheart, Hayley Kiyoko, who — despite being a former Disney star — has grown into her own, more sincere, representation-forward personality. Then it was time for headliner, Lauv, who’s embattled love songs and big beats had the crowd engaged throughout the set.
