Seattle’s was set ablaze on June 15th as Thrice took the stage at The Showbox, treating fans to an unforgettable night of energetic performances and nostalgia as they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their iconic album, “Artist In The Ambulance.” From the moment the lights dimmed, anticipation filled the air, and the band’s dynamic presence electrified the atmosphere.

As the lights went out and crowd erupted in cheers, their enthusiasm echoing throughout the venue. Thrice wasted no time in launching into an explosive set that represented their first major label record. A fan favorite record and their shift into mainstream hardcore rock. Thrice Artist In The Ambulance 20th Anniversary Showbox Concert captured the essence of their renowned third album. Each song carried a weighty significance, transporting fans back to the early 2000s and rekindling a sense of youthful rebellion.

Frontman and Dustin Kensrue commanded the stage with his commanding presence and raw vocals. His passionate delivery brought every lyric to life, reminding the audience of the emotional depth found in Thrice’s music. From the visceral intensity of “Under a Killing Moon” to the introspective beauty of “Stare at the Sun,” Kensrue’s performance was nothing short of captivating.

Guitarists Teppei Teranishi and bassist Eddie Breckenridge showcased their exceptional musicianship, flawlessly weaving intricate melodies and explosive riffs throughout the night. Their synergy was a testament to the band’s longstanding chemistry, further heightened by the unyielding energy of drummer Riley Breckenridge, who propelled each song forward with his thunderous beats.

The crowd’s response was nothing short of electric, with mosh pits forming during fan-favorite tracks like “All” That’s Left and “Cold Cash and Colder Hearts.” The audience sang along with every word, their voices blending into a powerful chorus that reverberated through the venue. It was a testament to the enduring impact Thrice has had on their fans over the years. The band did stop one song too because of disruptive person in the audience who was later kicked out. Kudos to Thrice for stopping the song at the nefarious acts and waited for the situation to be resolved. 

Despite the celebration of their past, Thrice also took the opportunity to showcase their evolution as artists. The band seamlessly incorporated newer tracks from their recent albums, reminding everyone in attendance that they continue to push boundaries and explore new sonic territories. Songs like “Black Honey” and “The Earth Will Shake” and their long time fan favorite “Deadbolt”. The lighting design artfully complemented the mood of each song, ranging from intense strobes during heavy-hitting tracks to soft, ambient hues during the more introspective moments.

Thrice Artist In The Ambulance 20th Anniversary Showbox Concert was a triumphant celebration of their enduring legacy. Playing not one but two sold out show in Seattle at both of the Showbox’s tour. Thrice’s concert was not simply a nostalgic trip down memory lane but a testament to the bands lasting career that went beyond three albums for a total of 11 records. Thrice Artist In The Ambulance 20th Anniversary Showbox concert was a celebration of an incredible record and more new records to come from Thrice.
