From Pivot Gang to Dreamville to Beast Coast, it seems that Summer 2019 is peak time for group albums. All the individual hip hop artist you know and love all come together for a collection of tracks on one album—what could be better?
One of the most notable collab albums from this new wave has been the Beast Coast album. Combining the talents of Joey Bada$$, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, and more, Escape from New York is a crazy project filled with all sorts of unique tracks. Albums like this allow artists to try out something new with collaborators, or take control on a track that’s their style, but bring some new voices in on it.
