Concert Preview: The California Honeydrops

The California Honeydrops are coming to town with their own brand of R&B, soul, and roots music. They’ll be playing two back-to-back nights at the Tractor Tavern on November 30th and December 1st, with support from Steep Ravine.

As you listen to TCH, you’ll notice the tie that binds their music is their instrumentation and musicality. They’ve been known to bring some unusual instruments to the stage, such as a jug or a washboard. With tight arrangements and even tighter technique, the Honeydrops ooze an easy refinement that is evident in their smooth grooves. It is no wonder they have toured with heavyweights like Bonnie Raitt and have played at such festivals as the New Orleans Jazz Fest.

The Honeydrops are an easygoing band that can be a bit boisterous, but always bring the heart, and are always up for a party.  We are lucky that they have decided to extend their stop to two nights of throwback goodness.
