“We have a bunch of songs that we are not supposed to play but FUCK IT!”. Thats what lead singer Sarah Barthel yelled out to the crowd on October 17th at the Showbox Market in front of a sold out crowd. This care free style really set the tone for the night. Phantogram commanded the stage and their presence followed like elegant rock stars and punk rockers. Dressed in some pretty sweet laced high heels Sarah’s soft vocals echoed throughout the showbox. Even with her beautiful soft vocals the caliber of the each song was still grand. To justify spending $30 of your American dollars it was easy to explain once lead guitarist and the 2nd half of the brain for Phantogram, Josh Carter, started singing. His vocal compliment Sarah’s in a complete opposite sort of way. Deeper and with a hit of hip-hop in his voice. Although he did not sing to often when he did it elevated the song above all else. Original dance moves by Sarah Barthel against a silhouetted lighting design setup was a highlight for many. The stage was prepped for sophisticated light show. With just a couple pops of the light and a some smartly placed mirrors bouncing lighting around the stage, the boring stage was transformed into a weaving light pattern only a band with the like Phantogram could develop. An ingenious way to create unique atmosphere from the smoke on stage. Be sure to check out the photos below to experience just how incredible the lighting for the show was and more importantly how remarkable a Phantograms Seattle SOLD OUT can be!
