Yesterday had to be the best day of my life. I consider it to be my first official concert gig that I have photographed. I have photographed three others before Springfest but for Springfest I got in for free, I had an official press pass security entrance, the bands were nationally established bands, and I got to hang back stage with the bands. It would not have been able to happen with out the SEB and the people from Genevieve for helping me out. Thanks so much you guys!!!!!

The day started out great. Got my press pass as planned, at 10 am in the morning. Then at 3pm I went with Genevieve to photograph them during their soundcheck. I got to enter backstage and be in the backstage area with them while they set up. It was cool being in the venue before anyone else was able too. Got some great pictures of Genevieve hanging out backstage, during soundcheck and right before they went on stage. Then after their soundcheck, Genevieve left to go get ready for the show and I thought that I would have to leave to but the people running the SEB said that I could stay of I wanted to. I was like hell yeah. So I hung around, took some more photos of the venue, enjoyed watching The Maine play during their soundcheck and I met someone from Fearless Records. Thats right Fearless Record Lable.

I was walking around taking pictures and a nice lady called me over to her because she wanted to wanted to know who I was shooting for. I said that I was a freelance photographer just shooting to increase my portfolio. I went to give her my business card and she handed me hers too and it said Fearless records on it. I nearly pissed my pants I was in so much shock. She said that if I ever wanted to photograph any band on Fearless Records that I should email her and she would hook me up with a press pass. When she said that I almost fainted. She also said that I should send the pictures I take of The Maine and email them to her and she will post them on Fearless Record website. My gosh was I happy to hear her say that. I think meeting her and getting that sweet new connection made the entire day so much better. I am still not sure if it happened too.

As for the show it was simple amazing. Genevieve opened the show and they rock it. Their set went by so fast, I was surprised when they said they had one more song to play. Redeye Empire played next and they sounded cool. Sort of a ska/reggae band, pretty cool. Next The Maine played. Second time I have seen them live and they rocked the roof off of the venue. The fans went nuts during their set and I had to leave the photo pit because it was getting out of control. In my opinion the fans were fine, the security was just being lame, like they usually are. None the less The Maine rocked it. Then the Ying Yang Twins headlined the show and the crowed loved them. And that was my night. Here are some pictures from the night. I will have all the pictures edited in a few weeks.
