It’s pop rap. And it’s unapologetic. Hoodie Allen – née Steven Markowitz of Long Island, NY – has just released his third full-length album, The Hype, and while many may scoff, there are plenty of rabid fans out there pushing his albums up the charts. Born in a vein known affectionately as “frat-rap,” Hoodie Allen’s music is a strange brew of hop-hop and vintage influences ripe with braggadocio and well-delivered punchlines.

Three albums in and Hoodie Allen is still playing outside the major label machine, so it’s safe to assume he’s delivering exactly what he wants us to hear. And that’s sure to come across as electric as ever when he stops by The Showbox as part of his 2017 The Hype World Tour. Undeniably infectious, be sure your pop references are on point and grab your tickets for what’s sure to be a show full of swagger. Hoodie Allen will be joined by special guests Luke Christopher and Myles Parrish.
