Matisyahu burst onto the music scene with his iconic album Live at Stubbs Vol. I and his signature song “King Without Crown” that made him an overnight sensation. His music – based in hip-hop and reggae roots – along with his incredible voice, beat-boxing skills, and deep sense of spirituality, connected immediately with the masses. He himself has evolved from “hasidic reggae superstar” to an internationally renowned force in the music landscape.

Just over 10 years to the day that he recorded Live at Stubbs Vol. I, he has released Live at Stubbs Vol. III: A Ten Year Journey. For this album and tour, Matisyahu has reunited with with old friends including guitarist Adam Dugan, who played on the original Stubbs album, keyboardist Rob Marscher, and percussionist Tim Keiper. Their goal on this tour is to connect with the crowd by creating a unique musical experience through their complimentary improvisational skills. Fans may ask, “What album is that song on?” The answer will be none, because it will be a song for that moment and that moment alone.

You can catch Matisyahu and his band seeking sparks and rocking the Neptune Theater a week from this Friday.
