Any concert with two big name playing on the same stage and a promising up and coming opening act had better be as good as it sounds. AND that is exactly what was delivered when headliners Bullet for My Valentine and Black Veil Brides came to the Seattle Showbox with opening act Stars In Stereo on October 2nd 2013.

Both Bullet for My Valentine and Black Veil Brides had equal say in the fans that showed up for the show and based on the few fans with BVB face paint it was clear the band everyone came to see was Bullet for My Valentine. AND they sure put on a show worth their 15 years dominating the alternative heavy metal scene out preforming the young Black Veil Brides, showing them a thing or two in the process.

Black Veil Brides provided a warm atmosphere for BFMV to come on stage and as soon as they hit the stage the night really got started. Concerned less with looking pretty and perfect Bullet for My Valentine came out like a couple of bad-asses with full-throttle and chunky guitar sounds. Lights blasting from the back of the stage the show had the feeling of large arena show within the small Showbox Sodo venue.  Elevating their music by the fans screaming from the front of the stage and crowd surfing fans flashes of strobed made it look like everything was happening in slow motion to fast heavy music. The night only to got better hearing popular songs like Breaking Point, P.OW, Scream Aim Fire, Temper Temper, Riot, and Tears Don’t Fall. The stage presence from Bullet was one that is not often seen with modern metal shows. It was more like a punk rock show then heavy head banging metal. Something foreign to most new bands in the genre it is good to see original bands sticking to their roots.

Bullet for my Valentine really showed everything they had and left it on stage for the fans that night. For any heavy metal around the country, check to see when Bullet For My Valentine are heading to your town, cause you will surely regret it once they head back to the UK.
