Alter Bridge w/ Nonpoint
Moore Theatre, Seattle, WA

Alter Bridge finally returned to Seattle, ending their 18-date tour run in support of their latest album, The Last Hero, at the Moore Theatre. They were last here during KISW’s “Pain In The Grass” show last summer and rocked the festival.

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida’s Nonpoint opened the tour, and it was good to see them getting recognition in front of audiences that might not have seen, or heard of, them. They put on a high energy set, as front man Elias Soriano belted out each song with dread locks flying. Guitarists BC Kromet and Rasheed Thomas were so much fun to watch. They played off each other well while bassist Adam Woloszyn and longtime drummer Robb Rivera held down the bottom end.

Being the last night of the tour, Soriano thanked Alter Bridge and the crew for taking them on such a fun run. As they broke into “Bullet With a Name,” two of the Alter Bridge techs walked onto the stage and started to dismantle Rivera’s drum kit, removing cymbal after cymbal. It was pretty funny as the rest of the band finally turned to see what was happening. Everyone was laughing and they finished up with what they could, waved good-bye, and exited the stage.

Alter Bridge took to the stage blazing into “Writing On The Wall,” as the entire Moore theatre rose to their feet. Spokane, Washington native Myles Kennedy is one of the best front men out there today his vocal prowess and the guitar chops to match Mark Tremonti make them both a sight to see. Bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips, both also formerly from Creed, have been the rhythm section of Alter Bridge from the beginning.

Kennedy thanked the crowd for supporting the band and coming for the last night of the tour. He thanked the hard working crew that keeps them on point each evening. And last but not least, they brought out a cake and had the audience join them in singing “Happy birthday” for drummer Scott Phillips.

The evening ended with the song “Rise Today” which has become one of the bands most well known songs. It closed out a great night, ending what seemed like a great tour.
