Preview: Phantogram

One of the most anticipated albums of 2016, Phantogram’s Three, is only eight days away from release. With four singles out already, including the popular “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore,” the synth-pop band is buzzing around the Internet and airwaves like crazy and fans could not be more excited.

The album is set for release October 7, 2016, as Phantogram’s fall tour makes its Seattle stop. Already sold out, the show is an early sign of a promising tour in support of the duo’s latest work. Three is noticeably darker than past work, with extra emphasis on the grit and grime of the band’s trippy, synth-heavy compositions. Not to worry, the anthemic, dreamy choruses are still there.

The promise of new visual effects – hints and previews of what to expect are floating around Instagram – and mysterious lighting is intriguing. And Phantogram’s shows typically see some pretty rockin’ leather attire, which certainly doesn’t hurt. So check the tour dates, starting with Las Vegas, Sept. 29 and running through November 5th in Dallas (before heading over to Europe for a quick jaunt), and get tickets soon, as they’re selling out fast.
