Mac Sabbath is, quite frankly, about the creepiest band I can imagine. Is it punk? Goth? Metal? Is it all a joke? Dressed up like the antagonizingly popular characters forever enshrined within the happiest of meals, the self-proclaimed “drive-thru metal” band slings distorted versions of Black Sabbath covers edited thematically into burger joint heaven. Just two years into the project, they might be a pretty good cover band – there are the classic 70’s Sabbath guitar riffs and cutting vocals – but that’s not the draw.

For the full on prop-filled, fully-costumed fun get thee to a live show. I’ve heard about tossed burgers, smoking grills, water-spraying ketchup bottles. Having graduated from playing underground restaurant food lockers to real stages, Mac Sabbath is definitely more than a comedic jaunt. But I’m still pretty sure they’re about as creepy as it gets.

Mac Sabbath will be at El Corazon Friday, August 14 with The Dread Crew of Oddwood, Ronald McFondle, The Falcons of Fine Dining, and Mothership.
