Last to See the Sun w/ Deathbed Confessions

On a hot Friday night, local Seattle metal band Last to See the Sun unveiled their album War/Religion. The album is the result of a self-imposed band sequestering, name change and home recording, before taking it to the studio for some finishing touches. Clearly a labor of love, LTSTS bends the metal genre with lyrical and melodic transitions from hardcore screamo to sparse, clean, almost classic rock. They also seemed to be using some electronic samples, combined with clear, strong beats that provide a solid backdrop for massive guitar riffs. With four out of five members contributing vocals, there are layers here for digging. They also put on a pretty enthusiastic show, captured below.
