Suicide Silence & Emmure
El Corazon, Seattle, WA
02.20.15

East and west representatives of deathcore converged, as Emmure and Suicide Silence brought their brand of heart-pumping insanity to El Corazon on Friday night. Marking the third stop on their Stronger Than Faith Tour, hometowns Queens and Riverside finally shared something in common: a vicious love for metal in all its glory. Both bands have been dishing it out for about 12 years now, and with both groups boasting a full length release last year, it seems obvious that there’s no signs of slowing down, and that this tour was imminent. Nay, fated. Emmure and Suicide Silence radiated energy, as El Corazon was packed from wall to wall with screaming, singing fans. Emmure singer Frank Palmeri stood perched above the crowd on a color-changing platform, hitting his highs and lows with precision accuracy. The light show throughout the night was impressive, with strobes and beams interweaving their sets. As the house went dark for the opening of Suicide Silence, band members took the stage one at a time, with front man and latest addition Eddie Hermida bringing up the rear. His stage presence dominated the evening, capping off this date with an outstanding performance of “You Only Live Once.”
