Pissed Jeans

A bus full of sexual frustration made its way to Barboza Saturday night in the form of noise-core punk band Pissed Jeans. Allentown natives and Sub Pop favorites, this group embraces a careless, shit-your-pants attitude that, at least for myself, is refreshing. Life is too stressful for weighty, depressing music anyway. And, no matter if your shirt buttons are on the left or the right, you’ll find comfort in Pissed Jeans and some dry humor.

21 and up, folks ditched dark corners and tables at 9:15 to the eerie bellows and growls splitting the air. Barboza is a 200 capacity venue, and, well, it’s always hot and intimate in an unbecoming way. Tonight was no different, but tonight it seemed most appropriate. Pissed Jeans came on fast and reckless, ditching clean sounds for perfected noise, only gained with a certain expertise. Front man Matt Korvette may spend his daytime hours adjusting your insurance claim, however it’s clear that his penis-centric freestyle is worry-free and devoid of practice. So, not to worry, your show will always be unique. Pissed Jeans plays a few more shows heading in a southerly direction before they tell winter to fuck off.
