They came running. That is, all the WSU students who were fans of one of the newest and hottest bands on the scene right now, Youngblood Hawke.  Sperry’s Vacationland stopped by the WSU campus for an evening of free music featuring Youngblood Hawke. With the recent release of their debut full length album ‘Wake’. Starting the night out opening with ‘Rootless’ got the crowd going to statues to jumping, dancing, party goers like WSU is so well know for around the state. Of course this was probably mainly from following the direction of Youngblood Hawke’s lead singer Sam Martin who bounces back and forth with the beat of every song.  A stage presence I have not seen before, but one that works great with every unique and catchy beat pouring out of the synthesizer  and guitars.

Later in the night they played a ton of new music off their new album like fan favorite Say Say, Danny Boy, Dreams, Live & Die. It was a show that ended to fast for me and I can’t wait for them to return to the state of Washington on their next tour. Playing in front of even large crowds.

Enjoy the photos below of Youngblood Hawke and some of the openers!
